Anurag Kashyap ended up in a soup when actress Payal Ghosh claimed that he had sexually assaulted her. The actress took to social media to narrate the incident and later filed a complaint against the filmmaker.
A police complaint was filed by Payal Ghosh recently and for the questioning of the same, Anurag Kashyap was clicked at the Versova Police Station in Mumbai today.
Ghosh accused the filmmaker of allegedly 'raping' her seven years ago. The actress and her lawyer visited the Versova police station on September 27. She has filed a written complaint against the filmmaker for the offence of rape, wrongful restrain, wrongful confinement, and outraging the modesty of women under sections 376, 354, 341, and 341.
She even threatened to go on a hunger strike if strict action against Kashyap is not taken.
However, soon after, Anurag's colleagues and friends from the industry came out to support him saying that the director can never do anything like this. The director has denied all the claims against him calling them false and baseless.
Earlier, Payal met Ramdas Athawale, who later announced that the Republican Party of India (RPI) would launch an agitation if Kashyap was not arrested within a week.
Payal also met Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Tuesday seeking Y-category security.
