Chennai, Sep 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Chennai Air Customs on Tuesday said it has seized 130 pills of synthetic drug MDMA valued at Rs 4 lakh.
Based on an intelligence input, Air Customs officials intercepted a parcel sent from France at the Foreign Post Office here, the Commissioner of Customs, Chennai International Airport, said in a statement.
The parcel sent from Poulainville town in north France was meant to be delivered at a Chennai address. It contained a plastic pouch with pink tablets, suspected to be MDMA, a narcotic substance.
The tablets contained around 250 mg of MDMA, considered a very high dose. A total of 130 MDMA pills valued at Rs 4 lakh were seized under the NDPS Act, 1985.
A team went to the address on the parcel but the apartment was found to be locked. Enquiries revealed that the premises was unoccupied since the lockdown.
Further investigation is in progress.
