Prof K Nageshwar: How many got Corona in Hyderabad? (Video)

In a surprising revelation, top scientists have projected the potential Covid-19 cases in Hyderabad at roughly six lakh at least 6-7 times more than the 95,700 coronavirus cases detected in entire Telangana till Wednesday.
The scientists say this is a clear indication that most infected persons are asymptomatic. Maharashtra is the only state in the country which has officially recorded more than six lakh cases so far.
With international studies showing that the novel coronavirus is shed through faeces, researchers from the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) checked sewage water at the sewage treatment plants (STPs) of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). An analysis found the presence of the virus.
The CCMB projection suggests that 6% of the citys population could be exposed to Covid-19 with or without symptoms. The scientists also say that if a similar study is done in other cities, a clearer picture of the spread of the virus in a geographical area would emerge.
