Prof K Nageshwar: Congress Tit for BJP Tat in Rajasthan? (Video)

The way Rajasthan political drama has been unfolding, it surely does not have the imprint of the typical style of top BJP leadership. The result is that BJP in Rajasthan has decided to shift 12 of its MLAs to a resort outskirt of Ahmedabad and six others to another resort in Porbandar. This is the first time in last one decade that BJP has shifted its MLAs fearing poaching by Congress.

Ashok Gehlot government is using all tricks and there were reports of local pressure being built on these MLAs. They have gone to Ahmedabad on their own and may visit Somnath temple today, said Satish Poonia, BJP state president of Rajasthan.

Most of the MLAs which have been sent to Ahmedabad belongs to Marwar and Mewar region western and southern Rajasthan. Interestingly, most of the MLAs who have been longing with Sachin Pilot have been mostly from eastern and northeastern Rajasthan.

In Pilot camp, veteran Hemaram is from Barmer while two first-timers Mukesh Bhakar and Ramniwas Gawadiya are from Nagaur district. Rakesh Pareek from Masuda in Ajmer is also a first-timer who owns his claim to fame to Pilot.

Sachin Pilot has not opened up his card in last one month but he has managed to keep his flock together despite pressure from Congress high command and Ashok Gehlot. With BJP going into damage control mode, it is clear that stakes are high from both sides.

Top leadership is yet to decide on Rajasthan. The decision would be taken before August 11, a BJP insider said.

August 11 is the date when a single bench of Rajasthan High court would decide on the stay application by BSP and BJP MLA Madan Dilawar against the merger of six BSP MLAs in Congress Legislative Party (CLP).
