Chandigarh's Covid warrior cop tests positive

Chandigarh, Aug 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) The baton-wielding policeman in Chandigarh, who was officially sensitising people on personal hygiene to protect themselves as well as the community from the Covid-19 pandemic, is down with the virus, doctors said on Thursday.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhupinder Singh, posted in the traffic wing of Chandigarh Police, was admitted to the Government Multi Specialty Hospital in Sector 16 here with mild symptoms of coronavirus.

He was posted with the awareness wing of the Chandigarh traffic police, whose sole responsibility is to make people aware of traffic rules.

After wielding pen to write lyrics advising motorists that they can't escape with a song after committing traffic violations, Singh was urging people through a song to take preventive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus by greeting each other with folded hands instead of shaking hands.

In his less than two-minute video on YouTube, Singh could be seen advising people to maintain a safe distance from each other. The song went like this: "Vadian di reet kade vi na todiye, Sat Sri Akal bol hath jodie, hath na minlauna, nahi gal nal launa coronavirus toh je hai bachna loko."

Earlier in a Punjabi song shared by the Chandigarh Police on their Twitter handle, Singh said that many people get killed in road accidents, which failed to deter violators.
