Now the film is acquired by Amazon Prime Video for OTT release, actor Shreyas Talpade took to his social media and shared some fond memories of the film.
He wrote, “Oh! What do I say about this film...brings back so many memories...#DilDostiEtc gave me a chance to experience the life of a Delhi University hostelite. We shot in the typical super hot Delhi summers in May and all of us were pretty new in that point in time”

The movie got mixed reviews on its release and was successful in multiplex theatres in Delhi and some parts of Mumbai.
On the work front, Shreyas was last seen in Setters, also starring Aftab Shivdasani, Sonnalli Seygall, Vijay Raaz, Ishita Dutta, Pavan Malhotra, Jameel Khan and Pankaj Jha. The film is about a racket "setters" who arranges brilliant student in place of weak student to appear in examination for money.
