Quite a few Telugu films, albeit low-budget ones have released directly on OTT platforms since the lockdown was put to effect. Namely, Krishna and his Leela, Bhanumathi Ramakrishna, 47 Hours, Penguin, and Uma Maheshwara Rao Ugra Roopasya released on various OTT platforms.
If the latest buzz is to go by, Anushka's 'Nishabdham' will be the notable Telugu film to get a direct OTT release.
The makers of the Anushka starrer are already in talks with Amazon prime and Netflix. In all likelihood, the film might be bagged by Amazon prime video. If this turns out to be true, 'Nishabdham' will be the biggest Telugu film to have released directly on OTT platforms.
If 'Nishabdham' goes the OTT way we can expect a few more Telugu films to lock a direct OTT release in the near future.
