With every rainy season, the condition of Osmania General Hospital deteriorates and worsens further. Just a few spells of normal rain in the Hyderabad city caused water logging and led to fall of chunks of the concrete ceiling in the hospital. The doctors and other medical staff working in the hospital say that the century-old building might not survive anymore monsoons.

Hyderabad's Osmaina Hospital was flooded on Wednesday as rainwater and sewage entered the hospital premises. This was the second such occasion in the last three days.

The Nizam-era medical college and hospital is one of the Covid-19 test and treatment centres in Telangana and serves a huge population in the old city in Hyderabad. It is one the biggest government hospitals in the state.

On Monday night too, the hospital premises were flooded. Rainwater and sewage entered as many as six wards, including the ICU, located on the ground floor, causing inconvenience to patients and healthcare staff.
