Covid cases in Kerala cross 10,000

Thiruvananthapuram, July 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said that the total number of Covid positive cases as on date in Kerala has crossed 10,000, of which 5372 are positive cases.

"The day saw 722 people turn Covid positive and it included 481 local infectees. Thiruvananthapuram district is seeing a huge spike as 339 positive cases are there. The state today has 84 clusters where there are cases, of which 10 are large clusters," said Vijayan.

Vijayan said some people, whose family members turned positive, are facing the people's anger and this should not happen.

"With the numbers increasing, steps have been taken to open 100 bed Covid first line centres in all the local bodies in the state. Likewise small clinics and private hospitals would also play their part when the need arises. Some of these are presently closed," added Vijayan.

He pointed out that since clusters have been identified, containment zones would now be in place and this has proved to be a success.

"Though there are a few different lines of treatment, allopathy treatment would be better and it has been proved also. This does not mean we are against any other branch of medicine. For this, allopathy would be the holistic one," said Vijayan.
