Mumbai, July 1 (SocialNews.XYZ) In dismal Covid-19 times, here comes good news. Online higher education firm upGrad on Wednesday announced that they have reversed the salary cuts and will provide 100 per cent reimbursement to their employees.
The company said that the amount cut would be given back to all employees in the July salary.
The company has also declared 'Work from Home' for all employees till December 31.
"Keeping everyone's well-being in mind, we declared work from home till 31st December 2020 and we won't be opening our office even if the situation betters now, as we want employees to be relieved of this constant uncertainty," Mayank Kumar, Co-Founder and MD, said in a statement.
Earlier, upGrad had announced pay cuts for its employees up to 30 per cent basis level of seniority.
However, the company decided to reverse salary cuts at the beginning of the new quarter on Wednesday.
Edtech sector, which has received a massive fillip due to the pandemic, has contributed to the business growth of upGrad, the company said.
Founded in early 2015, upGrad has on-boarded over 30,000 paid learners and impacted more than half a million individuals globally, within five years.
The edtech major provides online programmes in the areas of data science, technology, management and law to college students, working professionals and enterprises.
