New Delhi, June 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) On Sunday alone, Delhi saw 2,889 fresh COVID-19 cases reported, taking the total count to 83,077 while 65 deaths due to the pandemic took the death toll to 2,623 in the capital.
The national capital, which has been reeling under the health crisis, has 27,847 active cases.
However, in some positive news, 3,306 people were either cured or discharged after treatment. This makes 52,607 people to have been cured in Delhi so far.
There are a total of 13,411 hospitals, 5,909 dedicated COVID care centres and 344 dedicated COVID health centres in Delhi who are treating patients with different degrees of symptoms. Meanwhile, there have been 17,148 people who are under home isolation.
Additionally, an order has been issued regarding operating hospital beds in banquet halls in coordination with the linked hospitals to ramp up the infrastructure. Meanwhile, a government order asked for operationalisation of 450 beds in Burari hospital in a phased manner.
On Sunday, as many as 20,080 tests were conducted in the national capital. So far, 4,98,416 tests have been conducted in the city.
However, what can be seen as one step forward and two steps back, as many as 87 areas were de-contained as of latest containment zone data released by the government, while 175 fresh areas were announced as containment zones. Among the decontained zones, most of them fall under west and southeast Delhi. The bulk of the fresh containment zones fall under southwest Delhi.
There are 417 containment zones which are operational in Delhi, as of Sunday.
