After ‘Chhapak’ audience will get to catch the sight of one more acid attack survivor film. Singer Sonu Nigam who is known for his melodious and pleasant voice is all geared up for his upcoming short film ‘Spotless’. The film traces the odious crime of acid attack and the aftermath life of an acid attack survivor. Sonu took to his Instagram handle and announced the release date of his film.
Sonu to share his effort with his fans on his Instagram wrote, “In an attempt to empathize and bring forth the story and the aftermath of a heinous crime like Acid Attack, I had worked on a project in the past.
The short film was honoured with multiple accolades and has rightly spread the message. And now presenting 'Spotless' on my YouTube channel, releasing on Thursday, 25th June, 2020.”
A short film that traces the struggles and indomitable spirit of an acid attack survivor. Featuring Sonu Nigam and Shweta Rohira in lead roles, the short film is written and directed by Saurabh M Pandey and produced by Naven Kumar Sharma
The story revolves around a young couple who battle circumstances to come to terms with an incident that shook their world. It throws light on factors like family support and strong will, which are imperative in such unfortunate situations.
Interestingly, Sonu always felt a deep sense of compassion towards acid victims after he had heard of a sound engineer's daughter falling prey to this heinous crime. The perpetrator is still unpunished. When Pandey approached him for the role, Sonu agreed because he liked the script and was moved by the message of the film.
