Japan’s Dentsu evacuates Tokyo HQ after bomb threat

Tokyo, June 5 (SocialNews.XYZ) Japan's largest advertising agency, Dentsu Group Corp, on Friday evacuated personnel from its Tokyo headquarters after receiving a bomb threat.

The evacuation order was issued by the advertising giant, with the firm citing an email that had apparently been sent to its website warning of the threat, reports Xinhua news agency.

"Warning of explosion at Dentsu's Shiodome headquarters building with deadline past 7 a.m. on June 7, Sunday," the email read.

Dentsu said it has closed the building located in the upscale Shiodome area near Tokyo Bay, and prohibited access to the building over the weekend.

The company had already introduced work from home measures for its employees due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The global advertising and marketing behemoth said it has notified authorities of the threat.

The building and commercial facilities around the Shiodome business and leisure district have since been cordoned off by police.
