A CRPF spokesperson at its Delhi headquarters, M. Dhinakaran, called the act an "emotional activity" done at the local level, saying the matter was under consideration.
"It was not an official announcement. It was done at a local level on emotional grounds. We are looking into it," Dhinakaran told IANS.
