New Delhi, June 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) Known Supreme Court lawyer and Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh, Vivek Tankha, has said that the result of Rajya Sabha elections in the state can be challenged in the court because there are legal errors in the nomination forms of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates.
Tankha, in a tweet in Hindi on Wednesday, said: "Rajya Sabha election (is) scheduled for June 19 in MP. (There are) three seats and four candidates. The victory and defeat depend on the process of the election. As per the election law experts, big legal mistakes have happened in the acceptance of nomination forms of the BJP candidates. Definitely, the result of this is under shadow of court challenge (sic)."
It must be quoted here that three Rajya Sabha seats in the state were vacated after the tenure of Prabhat Jha, Digvijaya Singh and Satyanarayan Jatiya was over. The election is scheduled for these seats on June 19. The Congress has fielded former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh and Phool Singh Baraiya. While former Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who has recently joined the BJP leaving Congress, and Sumer Singh Solanki are the BJP candidates.
