India reports biggest ever spike in Coronavirus cases

For the past one week or so, the number of new Coronavirus positive cases in India have been increasing at a rapid pace. India is consistently reporting more than 6000 cases per day and this is a worrisome update.
As per latest reports, India has reported a total of 6767 Coronavirus positive cases in the past 24 hours. This is the highest number of Coronavirus cases reported in a single day.
The total number of cases in the country are 1,31,868. Incidentally, the total number of active cases are 73,560, while 54,441 people have been cured and discharged till date. The recovery rate is less than 50% as of now.
Sadly, 3867 people have lost their lives due to Coronavirus till now and 147 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Reports suggest that India might witness the Coronavirus peak in the month of June or July.
