Kabul, May 20 (SocialNews.XYZ) At least 10 villagers were killed and 14 others wounded in two separate gun shootings in Afghanistan, authorities said on Wednesday.
In one incident on Tuesday, three people were killed and one child was wounded after the gunmen fired on people outside a mosque as Ramadan night prayers were underway around 9:00 p.m. (local time) in Korchako village, Sabari district of eastern Khost province, 150 km southeast of Kabul, provincial government spokesman Talib Mangal told Xinhua.
In eastern Parwan province, seven villagers were killed and 13 others wounded in a similar attack during night prayers roughly at 7:00 p.m. (local time) in Khalazai, a village on the outskirts of provincial capital Charikar city, 55 km north of Kabul, reported local media Tolo News TV.
The wounded were shifted to a hospital in Charikar, the madia quoted an Interior Ministry official as saying.
The attacks came as Afghans are observing the fasting month of Ramadan.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.
The Afghan civilians continue to bear the brunt of armed conflicts as more than 500 civilians were killed and 760 others wounded due to fighting in Afghanistan in the first three months of 2020, United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) announced on late April.
