16 more cases take Gurugram’s Covid-19 tally to 161

Gurugram, May 12 (SocialNews.XYZ) Sixteen more Covid-19 cases have been detected in different areas of the millennium city on Tuesday, taking the tally to 161. Of this, 91 are active cases admitted in different district hospitals.

In the past 7 days, 74 coronavirus cases have been reported.

Among new cases, 6 are from Sarhol village, 2 from DLF phase 3, 2 healthcare personnel of Gurugram's civil hospital at sector 10, and one case each from DLF phase 1, Ravi Nagar, Baliawas, Devilal colony, Khandsa road near Balaji temple, and Bajghera.

"We have admitted all 16 patients to government and private hospitals of the district. Their houses have been declared quarantine homes and asked the family members to stay inside for 21 days," said J.S. Punia, Gurugram Civil Surgeon.

Punia said all the cases were contacts of Covid-19 patients. Three of them were vegetable sellers and one security staff of DLF phase 1, he added.

"Apart from Covid-19 patients, 61 are under close surveillance of health officials in different quarantine facilities," Punia said.

The Gurugram district administration has collected 8,574 samples. Of this, 7,933 tested negative and 480 reports are awaited.
