New Delhi, May 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) Amid the COVID-19 lockdown with political activity halted, Congress leader Jitin Prasada has initiated a virtual meeting programme with party workers called 'Kaise Hain Aap.
Prasada who hails from UP and is a former Union minister has done two such sessions with workers of Badayun. He is planning to hold such sessions across the state.
Prasada said "My initiative is to repair and restore the connect that got broken because of the corona outbreak and the consequent lockdown."
Preceding this virtual meet he has written a open letter to the workers to participate in large numbers.
Prasada said that business has closed, agriculture was hit due to rains and Congress workers are also hit economically and it's the duty of the party to take care of its workers.
The party had deputed its workers to work for the relief of the people in distress due to lockdown. The Congress has distributed 47 lakh ration kits to needy in the crisis due to lockdown in the state.
The Congress which has been out of power in the state since 1989 is trying to re-establish itself in the state where it has been reduced to only one Lok Sabha seat.
The Congress in crisis is trying to reach out to the masses with relief measures as part interim Sonia Gandhi has asked the state units to bear the cost of the ticket of the migrants. Congress has asked for a list of migrants coming from other states from each district including Raebareli and Amethi to compensate the fare charged by the Railways.
Meanwhile UP state president of the party Ajay Kumar Lallu has alleged that the administration is not providing them with the list as the political slugfest over the issue of charging fares from migrant workers who are heading home on special trains continued.
