Cash flow in small villages severely hit amid lockdown: Report

New Delhi, May 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) Cash flow in small villages across the country has been severely impacted during the lockdown period, as a survey by Smart Power India shows that 75 per cent respondents in villages receiving electricity through mini grid have reported low cash flow during the period.

The report further said that shops and commercial customers have been the worst-hit because of lockdown as only 21 per cent have agriculture as the main source of income.

Shops selling essential goods are also affected due to low customer footfall, reduced cash flow in rural and a broken supply chain, it said.

The report also said that 80 per cent respondents claimed negative economic impact due to the lockdown.

Around 4 per cent respondents haven't reported significant economic impact due to agri-based livelihood as main source, it said.

"Mini grid customer segment having shops and commercial property are the worst hit by lockdown due to closure or broken supply chain and most worried about revival of their business," said the report titled 'Consumer Survey Analysis on Impact of COVID-19 Lockdown'.
