515 stranded Kerala residents return, over 1.66 lakh others register

Thiruvananthapuram, May 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) As many as 515 Kerala residents returned to the state on Monday as 1,66,263 others had registered for coming back from other states, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Monday.

From Monday morning, Keralites stranded outside the state began to return through six entry points bordering Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

"By noon, 515 have entered the state. ill now, 28,272 entry passes have been applied, of which 5,470 have been issued," Vijayan told media after his daily Covid-19 review meeting.

He said the maximum 55,188 registrations of Kerala natives were from Karnataka, followed by Tamil Nadu's 50,863 and Maharashtra's 22,515.

He said all returnees will be screened and those with no symptoms will be quarantined at their homes whereas those with symptoms will be send to corona care centres for two weeks.
