Opposition lacks peoples' trust, finds IANS-CVoter survey
New Delhi, May 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) As the country is set to see the two-week-long phase 3 of the nationwide lockdown which commences on Monday with partial relaxations, the IANS-CVoter tracker finds that there is lack of trust in the opposition among the people.

The opposition, which moved in a calculated manner and did not attack the government on Covid-19 but sconfined itself to suggestion and constructive criticism, could not garner trust of the citizens, the survey found.

As per it, only 19.4 per cent people have "lot of trust" in the opposition and 31.7 per cent have "some trust" in it, while a whopping 38.2 per cent have "no trust at all" in it. The balance 10.7 per cent did not have any opinion on the issue.

 

The survey indicts opposition with net -18.8 per cent trust deficit. While the urban population has least trust (-31 per cent) followed by semi-urban or moffusil town which shows -26 .4 percent deficit, it is lesser in rural areas at -15.5 per cent.

The minority trust the opposition most, as per the Tracker, but 24 per cent Muslims do not show any trust followed by 16.4 per cent of Sikhs and 4 percent of Christians.

The majority community has also least confidence in the opposition with upper caste Hindus going for the government with 50.4 per cent do not trust the opposition at all followed by OBCs with with 40 per cent. The Scheduled Castes (35.9 per cent) and Scheduled Tribes (38.3 per cent) have also lost confidence in the opposition.

The opposition lacks trust in eastern part of the country with -25.2 per cent, while in north, the figure is - 17.7 per cent and west, the trust deficit is maximum at -35.2 per cent. However, in south, there is some solace for the opposition with 0.8 per cent trust.
