Thiruvananthapuram, May 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) It was a day that many Kerala health workers might never forget, when on Sunday morning they were treated as super heroes by the Indian Defence forces at the state capital when helicopters, aircraft and fast interceptor steam past at the Arabian sea at Kochi, honoured all those who have been fighting the Covid-19.
"I will never forget this honour that we were given. It's a never before experience we have got," said a para medical staff at the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital (TGH).
"We really feel happy, that we have been honoured for our hard work and this will only boost our morale to work even harder," said a nurse.
By 10 a.m., the entire staff at the TGH was waiting in front of the hospital for the flypast. Soon came a Sarang Helicopter and it went past them three times showering flowers at them.
Also lined up were 108 Ambulances on the road in front of the TGH.
As soon as the helicopter was seen on the horizon, the staff were seen waving and clapping their hands.
After the helicopter disappeared, these staff members were seen collecting the flowers and the petals and holding them close to their hearts, they felt a hugely happy lot and it was seen on their faces.
Likewise similar scenes were seen at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, when the entire staff from sweepers to the senior most doctor was waiting in front of the hospital.
And soon came the helicopter that showered flower petals and the entire staff felt that they were treated in a special way and went back to their duties after the helicopter disappeared.
Likewise at Kochi, top naval officials of the Southern Naval Command had come to greet and thank the hardworking staff at the Ernakulam General Hospital.
It was a feeling of happiness as top naval officials handed bunch of flowers to all the staff and then came the naval aircraft and showered flowers and petals.
Likewise at the Kochi marine drive, it was both an aerial and water display to thank the health workers when a flypast of helicopters and Dornier aircraft flew while fast interceptor steam past was held in the waters by boats, which carried a banner, 'India salutes Corona warriors'.
At the State Police headquarters here, top officials attached to the Pangode Army Military camp came and saluted the Kerala Police force and it was a scene of happy moments when a cake was cut and sweets distributed.
The Army band also played as a mark of respect to the police force.
