Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray called Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening and spoke to him about the present political logjam in the state. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought his help in mitigating a brewing political instability in the states, highly-placed sources have told India Today TV.

"The state cannot afford political instability during such a crucial period and it will also send across a wrong message. It should be avoided," Uddhav Thackeray is reported to have told the PM, the source said.

According to the source, the PM has assured Uddhav that he will look into the matter at the earliest.
