Jammu, April 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) With the recovery of all 26 positive cases from Jammu, the district is heading towards achieving a COVID-free status.
The Deputy commissioner Jammu Sushma Chouhan said through official twitter handle that all the reported positive cases in Jammu district have recovered, but cautioned that it would be premature to declare the district COVID-free.
"All the reported 26 positive cases from the district have recovered. It's indicative of being on the right course, nevertheless declaring the district COVID-free will be premature. Need to carry this forward proactively with caution."
Meanwhile, according to the latest figures, there are a total of 390 active cases across the Union territory. Out of them 384 are from the Kashmir valley and six from Jammu province.
J&K Government spokesperson Rohit Kansal while giving the figures said the government efforts are paying off, but there is no room for complacency.
"Active cases only 390 now. Kashmir 384, Jammu-6. Our testing is high, growth rate is low. So is mortality rate and positive rate. So far so good -- our efforts are paying off; lockdown working. Warning: No room for complacency," he tweeted.
Kansal said the COVID-19 pandemic spread rate has significantly slowed down in Jammu and Kashmir even as there is no room for complacency and the situation demands extra watchfulness.
"We continue to have a number of red zones and we need to be ever alert and watchful. Premature exuberance or celebration can cost us very dear," he said.
