67-yr-old succumbs to COVID-19 in Karnataka, toll at 22


Bengaluru, April 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) A 67-year-old woman from Dakshina Kannada succumbed to COVID-19, raising Karnataka's death toll to 22, an official said on Thursday.

"Positive case 409, a 67-year-old woman from Bantwal, Dakshina Kannada died on Thursday," said a health official in a statement.

She was also diagnosed with Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI), and had a history of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and diabetes.

Admitted at Wenlock Hospital on April 18, she was on ventilator at the time of her death.

Bantwal is 330 kms west of Bengaluru on the west coast of India by the Arabian Sea in this southern state.

Dakshina Kannada district has seen 16 Covid positive cases hitherto, currently with eight active cases and three deaths, the highest number of deaths after Bengaluru Urban.
