Panaji, April 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday welcomed the Central government's decision to allow inter-state movement of stranded persons, trapped in different parts of the country due to lockdown.
"I welcome the Union Ministry of Home Affairs' order allowing interstate movement of persons who have been stranded at different places in the country," Sawant tweeted on Wednesday.
"Goa government is launching a web portal for connecting with all Goans stranded in different parts of the country and will work out their transit plans," Sawant said.
The Goa government is already in touch with officials in the neigbouring states of Karnataka and Maharashtra over transfer of migrant labourers who are stuck in Goa since the lockdown began last month. Officials of all three states have begun working out the modalities for transfer of migrant labour as well as tourists from the state they are trapped in to their respective home states.
