Srinagar, April 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) Srinagar District Magistrate Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on Tuesday barred all religious gatherings on the occasion of the upcoming Shab-e-Barat in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The DM took to his Twitter handle on Tuesday to say that all sorts of religious congregation and public movement on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat in Srinagar would be barred because of the pandemic.
The holy night of Shab-e-Barat will be observed during the intervening night between Wednesday and Thursday.
Traditionally, Muslims observe the entire night with prayers and penance and also visit the graves of their parents and elders during this night.
Because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, all gatherings of devotees have been disallowed by Islamic scholars in different parts of the country.
