New Delhi, April 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Central Public Sector Centre Enterprises (CPSEs) under the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy have decided to contribute Rs 925 crore to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES Fund), which has been created by the Prime Ministers Office to provide relief to the needy people in the wake of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak in the country.
"We feel honoured to share that the PSUs under the Ministries of Power and MNRE have decided to contribute Rs 925 crore to the PM-CARES Fund with Rs 445 crore being deposited on March 31 and the remaining in the first week of April," Power Minister R.K. Singh said.
The amount of Rs 925 crore includes contribution of Rs 905 crore from PSUs under the Ministry of Power and Rs 20 crore from PSUs under the MNRE.
Most of the contributions from the PSUs have come from their CSR budget while their employees have also contributed from their salaries.
