Apart from making a direct donation to Relief funds, actress Priyanka Chopra has kick-started a new campaign, where she has people to nominate women who have gone the distance during a time of crisis. The actor will be donating 100,000 US dollars in total to women whether they are in the service industry or serving in the security forces.
Priyanka Chopra took to her social media and announced the new campaign. She captioned the video, “Our worlds changed quickly, and needless to say, we couldn’t go forward with our original plans to launch this campaign. SO, each week I’ll go live with @bonvivspikedseltzer to share the stories of four women who are overcoming the struggles of our new realities in their own powerful way. The actor shared her statement and a video regarding the same on her Instagram account. She talks about the crazy times we’re living in and the campaign which was supposed to start this week has been postponed and the resources will be put to good use.
Priyanka Chopra also shared a note, which read, “We will be donating $100,000 in total to women who are rising above everything during this crisis. If you know a woman we should highlight, share her story with us, whether she is in the service industry, from a large business, small business owner, or first responders on the front lines. We want to commemorate her. #TogetherWomenRise”
Meanwhile on the work front, Chopra will next star in two films for Netflix: an adaptation of Aravind Adiga's satirical novel The White Tiger and Robert Rodriguez's superhero film We Can Be Heroes.
She will also star alongside Richard Madden in Prime Video's thriller series Citadel, and she has been cast in an undisclosed role in The Matrix 4.
She is also producing over a dozen regional films in various languages under her production company.
