COVID-19: Tourism ministry launches 'Stranded in India' portal

New Delhi, March 31 (SocialNews.XYZ) Amid the COVID-19 lockdown, there are numerous foreign tourists stranded in India due to shutdown of air transport. Keeping the problem in mind, the Ministry of Tourism has come up with a portal to disseminate information regarding the services that can be availed by foreign tourists who are stuck.

The portal is titled 'Stranded in India' (strandedinindia.com) and aims to act as a support network for foreign tourists stuck in various parts of the country.

The portal gives comprehensive information around COVID-19 helpline numbers or call-centres that the foreign tourists can reach out to for help. Along with this the portal will also feature a variety of information around Ministry of External Affairs control centers along with their contact information and information around state or regional tourism support infrastructure.

The website will be featured on prominent Ministry of Tourism channels. "The Ministry of Tourism is constantly staying vigilant and encouraging various initiatives to help the ones in need," the ministry said in a statement.
