New Delhi, March 26 (SocialNews.XYZ) Renewable Energy projects under implementation will be given extension of time considering period of lockdown and time required for re-mobilisation of work force, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) Secretary Anand Kumar said.
Kumar made the announcement through a tweet following Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi's announcement for a complete lockdown across the country for 21 days from Tuesday midnight, asserting that it was "very necessary to break the chain of coronavirus infection."
The MNRE Secretary also accepted that the spread of coronavirus has not only disrupted the supply chain of components used in Renewable Energy projects but also has impacted the availability of workforce.

As per Kumar's announcement, the extension of time for Renewable Energy projects under implementation will consider the lockdown period which will continue till April 14.
Experts said that the chain of transmission of novel coronavirus will break in 21 days.
Originated from Wuhan city in China, COVID-19 has led to the deaths of more than 20,000 people and over 3.8 lakh confirmed cases across the world.
