Necessary documents for job switch

It does not matter whether the candidate is a fresher or an experienced one, whenever there is an interview, the candidate is bound to be nervous even when he is confident about his specialisation and skills. Getting nervous is acceptable but what is not acceptable is carelessness. Forgetting to take all necessary documents to an interview is a careless action and is judged seriously by the recruiter. This may lead to lowering your confidence during the interview resulting in poor performance. Also if you have done some course and you have the knowledge in a particular field but are unable to provide documents for the same, this might cost you the job due to lack of proof. Also if you are joining a job from another job then you would be needing a relieving letter. For the same you can check the internet for relieving letter samples.

Necessary documents for job switch

Documents required for a job interview or while switching jobs:

Resume

Your resume/C.V./ Bio data is the first and foremost thing that is required while switching jobs. This serves as your first introduction to the company that you want to join. It should have all information about the skills you acquire, your educational qualification, your experiences as well as your accomplishments. All these play a vital role in a resume. You need to format your resume well and take the help of a professional if needed. Carrying a resume with you can be beneficial in two ways, you can provide the recruiter with your resume, which is edited as per the job requirement and also you will be able to remember and carry the documents of skills that you have mentioned in the resume.

Educational Certificates

These are also very important to carry to interviews. Especially when you are going for walk-in interviews. The recruiter might ask you to fill forms mentioning marks and subjects in your earlier education. Not carrying your documents will show your unpreparedness which is not very favourable. The recruiter might not want to check your marks and tally them with the resume but it can’t be predicted what an interviewer might ask for. It is always recommended to take the educational certificates as well as attested copies of the certificates as a safe side. They might not be required but if they are required, you must be prepared with the same. Also some recruiters make you fill out a form after the interview, then marksheets might be required. Thus it is recommended to carry the certificates, original as well as copies.

Extracurricular Certificates

Any skills that you have mentioned in your resume should have a proof. The skills and extracurricular activities are your strengths and might form a topic of discussion during the interview. Not being able to produce proper documents would be a disadvantage and might make the recruiter think you to be irresponsible. Some even might not consider any qualification without a proper document which can again be a wrong situation to be in. You can include all certificates that are regarding social services or any training that you have taken. Even participation certificates can matter a lot and help you create a base to show your skills in the interview. The more you show and present your skills, the more your chances of being hired increase.

Address Proof

This is again a very important document that is considered very important to check the origin of the person. This is again important mostly in walk-in-interviews or once a person is recruited by the new company. It is advised to carry an attested copy of any valid address proof that shows your current address. Once you are selected the recruiter might want to carry on with the proceedings as soon as possible.

Salary slip

While switching jobs you should carry your last withdrawn salary slip. This will help you bargain with your current employer on the basis of your previous salary. The employer can clearly see your basic, taxes, deductions, bonus and such elements and decide your pay accordingly. This will also help them get your provident account number and use it. Sometimes you might be asked to show your bank account statements so that the transferred salary amount can be seen and hence, proved.
