Actors Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan came together to express gratitude towards emergency services providers as they fight against the coronavirus pandemic, by clapping and clanging utensils at 5 pm on Sunday. Both perched on top of a platform next to their beach houses in Mumbai, which was an inappropriate act. Because of them around 40 people gathered on the beach and were seen taking videos and photos of the stars.
The clapping was to support and show respect, honor and give strength to all COVID-19 warriors. But I think these stars overlooked social distancing and twisted the task into a small celebration, resulting in a social gathering.
According to Prime Minister Modi, the task was to be carried out in their respective balconies, not from the beach houses. On the day of Janta curfew, people were asked to stay at home and maintain social distancing. But I think these celebrities thought of doing something like chalk and cheese, which gave an impression of typical Bollywood drama and nothing else!
This is a condition when political blindness supersedes education and awareness. And this was real nonsense because it looked like the celebrities were interested in promoting themselves, rather than supporting the COVID -19 warriors.
Hence, I believe that these stars are equally responsible like singer Kanika Kapoor for breaking the rules of Janta Curfew and gathering the masses.
Though Prime Minister Modi had urged people to express their gratitude to doctors, nurses, paramedics, municipal staff, armed forces, etc. who are risking their lives to keep the nation. But, was clapping and clanging utensils were more than enough to support the people engaged in giving strength to the COVID-19 patients? No, I think we should support them in every possible way whenever they need us. And stand with them to avoid spreading coronavirus in our country.
On the day of Janta curfew, Akshay shared a video of himself and Hrithik, perched on top of a platform next to their beach houses in Mumbai. Both of them were seen clanging utensils and clapping. Film producer Sajid Nadiadwala was also seen with them. At the beach, a few men were gathered and were seen making videos of the actors.
He said, “5mins at 5pm :With my neighbours, taking a moment to appreciate those who do not have this luxury of staying at home & working tirelessly to keep us safe.Thank you to all the essential service providers for your selfless work #JanataCurfew #BreakCorona @iHrithik #SajidNadiadwala,” Akshay wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation on Thursday, had appealed people to observe Janta curfew from 7 am to 9 pm on Sunday to avoid the spread of the coronavirus infection.
