Gandhinagar, March 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) Within four days of detecting coronavirus cases in Gujarat, the state on Sunday saw its first death due to the dreaded virus outbreak.
The 67-year-old male patient was admitted in the Surat civil hospital on March 18 and had tested positive for coronavirus.
A highly-placed official of the Health Department said that the patient died on Sunday "following the virus attack and co-morbid condition. Prior to getting infected, the patient had history of failure of kidneys as well as asthma."
The elderly patient was the only one who got infected in India. All the other 13 coronavirus positive cases are persons who had travelled from abroad.
