Srinagar admin marks hotels for quarantine purposes

Srinagar, March 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Srinagar administration has requisitioned 65 well-equipped hotels and government accommodations to be used as quarantine facilities for citizens arriving back in Srinagar from foreign countries and those who might have come in contact with Covid-19 positive cases in the district.

The hotels requisitioned for the purpose are all three-star certified with all facilities to facilitate comfortable quarantine. The government accommodations acquired are also all well-equipped.

As many as 1,166 persons who reached Srinagar from abroad in the last three days have been shifted to 20 of these quarantine facilities. Of them, 685 persons returned on Saturday. The remaining 481 persons had returned in the previous two days and have been shifted to quarantine facilities.

Following the standard operating procedures as recommended in the matter, all these persons, mostly students, who have come mainly from Bangladesh, have been isolated soon upon their arrival.

Srinagar Deputy Commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary visited almost half of these facilities where the returnees have been shifted. He inspected the facilities available at these centres and also interacted with the people lodged in them.

He urged everyone to complete their recommended quarantine period, assuring them of provisions of all kinds and care during the period.
