New Delhi, March 20 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Friday List of Business in the Lok Sabha will see the presentation of several Bills and also the reports of several Standing Committees.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will move the Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2020 for consideration. The Bill amends the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
Union Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank will move amendments made by the Rajya Sabha in the Central Sanskrit Universities Bill 2019. It seeks to establish and incorporate Universities for teaching and research in Sanskrit, to develop all-inclusive Sanskrit promotional activities.
The Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha on the December 12, 2019 and sent to the Rajya Sabha for its concurrence. The Rajya Sabha passed the Bill with amendments at its sitting held on the Monday and returned it to the Lok Sabha the next day.
The Minister will also move the Indian Institute of Information Technology Laws (Amendment) Bill 2020 for consideration and its passage. The Bill amends the Indian Institutes of Information Technology Act, 2014 and the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-private Partnership) Act, 2017.
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will move the Major Port Authorities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 for consideration. It will provide for regulation, operation and planning of major ports in India and to vest the administration, control and management of such ports upon the Boards of Major Port Authorities.
Shashi Tharoor and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore will present the reports of the Standing Committee on Information Technology (2019-20).
These include: i) Tenth report on action taken by the government on the observations or recommendations of the Committee contained in their 50th report (16th Lok Sabha) on 'Progress of Implementation of BharatNet' of the Ministry of Communications (Department of Telecommunications).
ii) Eleventh report on action taken by the government on the observations of recommendations of the Committee contained in their 59th report (16th Lok Sabha) on 'Review of National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) - Problems and Challenges of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
iii) Twelfth report on action taken by the government on the observations of recommendations of the Committee contained in their 60th report (16th Lok Sabha) on 'Setting up of Post Bank of India as a payments Bank scope, objectives and framework of the Ministry of Communications (Department of Posts).
Members Kanimozhi Karunanidhi and Manik Rajoria will present the reports of the Standing Committee on Chemicals and Fertilisers.
These include: Sixth report on Demands for Grants 2020-21 of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers (Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals); 7th report on 'Demands for Grants 2020-21' of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (Department of Fertilizers); and 8th report on "Demands for Grants 2020-21' of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers (Department of Pharmaceuticals).
