Amid corona crisis, SPPL expects TV demand growth in Q3

New Delhi, March 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) As the coronavirus pandemic hits economies and demand across sectors, Avneet Singh Marwah, CEO of consumer electronics manufacturer Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SPPL), has said the television industry may see a spike in demand in the third quarter of 2020.

He said as factories in China have started to resume operations, by the end of April, they may run to their full capacity.

"By the end of Q2 and the beginning of Q3, things will be in place and we should see a spike. There are lots of events, and we feel that during these events, sales might resume and whatever damage that has been done will be repaired," he said.

"I'm hopeful that by then we come up with a cure, a medicine or a vaccination for the coronavirus," he said.

On the company's plans for the upcoming fiscal, Marwah said that SPPL plans to achieve 8 per cet market share in India and become the second largest online brand in the country.

"Our strategy is to introduce more technology televisions that have a complete ecosystem. We are currently selling in 18,000 pin codes and will soon be increasing to 19,000 pin codes. For us, most important is the customer service for which we have expanded from 200-550 service centres in India," he said.

"The strategy is very simple. We want to focus on our customer experience with the best of services and the latest technology television that we will be launching every quarter to increase our volumes in sales."

On Monday, the TV and electronics manufacturer announced the launch of Kodak CA Series, its first-ever range of Android TVs on Flipkart.

SPPL, which is Kodak's brand licensee in India, has expanded its range of smart televisions in India by launching Android-powered televisions.
