Dharamsala, March 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Tibetan parliament-in-exile on Tuesday curtailed its budget session for fiscal 2020-21 to one day from 10 days in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
Earlier, it was scheduled to be held from March 17 to 27.
The decision to hold the 10 days' session to approve and sanction the 2020-2021 budget of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in a day was taken by the standing committee in its meeting held on Monday considering the high risk amid the outbreak of COVID-19 across the world, an official statement said.
The session witnessed presentation of the budget, two official resolutions of mourning and one resolution of solidarity, said an official.
Around 140,000 Tibetans now live in exile, over 100,000 of them in different parts of India. Over six million Tibetans live in Tibet.
The Tibetan administration-in-exile is based in Dharamsala town.
