New Delhi, March 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) With the coronavirus pandemic a reality now, the screening measures have been introduced, from Monday, at Parliament House too.
Visitors could be seen lining up for undergoing thermal screening at the entry gates on the outer periphery of Parliament House that provide entry. Inside, small containers of hand sanitiser were also placed by the side of the security personnel, near the 12 entry gates.
The second leg of the current budget session, which is also the third session of the 17th Lok Sabha began on March 2 and ends on April 3.
A total of 40,557 visitors gallery passes were distributed in the first session of the 17th Lok Sabha and the maximum number of issued pass for a day was 2,086.
A total of 28,452 passes were distributed in the second session of and the maximum number of issued passes for a day was 2,707.
Ever since the coronavirus outbreak was reported from China in January, the Indian government has been taking proactive measures to control the spread of the infection, and has issued advisories against gatherings of people in large numbers.
Till date, 110 confirmed cases have been reported and two people have died of coronavirus in India.
The coronavirus pandemic originated in China but has spread to a number of countries, including India.
