COVID-19: Delhi court lawyers to abstain from work

New Delhi, March 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) In the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak, lawyers in Delhi's district courts have passed a resolution to abstain from work and only attend urgent matters.

"Abstinence from work in all district courts and only urgent work like bail, stay would be attended by the lawyers from March 16," the resolution passed by the coordination committee of all district court bar association of Delhi stated.

It also advised lawyers not to gather in groups in the court building.

"District judges should hold the meetings daily in the evening with the Executive Bodies of their respective Bar Associations to take the stock of the situation," the resolution further stated.

The Health Ministry on Monday said a total of 114 people in India have so far tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

In the national capital, there are seven cases of which two have recovered and one, a woman, has died.
