Toofan And Jayesh Bhai Jordaar Swap Dates, Avoid Clash

Farhan Akhtar starring Toofan and Ranveer Singh starrer Jayesh Bhai Jordaar were headed for the box-office clash, as both the movies were slated for 2^nd October 2020 release. But now the makers of the film, Excel Entertainment and Yash Raj Films are struck a deal to swap dates.

The official handle of Excel Entertainment just dropped the new release date of Farhan Akhtar’s next, Toofan. It said, “#Toofaan releases on 18th September, 2020 @yrf @RanveerOfficial @FarOutAkhtar @mrunal0801 @SirPareshRawal @RakeyshOmMehra @ritesh_sid @ROMPPictures”

Toofan is an upcoming sports film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and produced by him, Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, P.S. Bharathi and Rajiv Tandon. It stars Akhtar as a national level boxer, along with Paresh Rawal, Mrunal Thakur and Isha Talwar.

The official handle of Yash Raj Films also issued a statement on social media, which read, “In the interest of both films and to ensure an ideal theatrical release, #AdityaChopra & @ritesh_sid have decided to release their films on different dates. YRF will release #JayeshbhaiJordaar on 2nd October and @excelmovies will release #Toofaan on 18th September 2020. @RanveerOfficial #ShaliniPandey #ManeeshSharma @divyangrt”

Jayeshbhai Jordaar is directed by newcomer Divyang Thakkar. It stars Ranveer Singh in the title role as a Gujarati man who believes in equal rights between males and females in the society. The film also features newcomer Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak. It is set to theatrically release on Gandhi Jayanti 2020.
