Lawyers plan march on Friday to protest Delhi riots

New Delhi, March 5 (SocialNews.XYZ) The lawyers' organisations plan to organise a Supreme Court to Parliament march at 3 p.m. on Friday in protest against the recent riots in northeast Delhi.

Mehmood Pracha, who has been at the forefront of the CAA protests and one of the organisers of the march, told IANS, "The march of lawyers, retired judges and law students is being organised to save the Constitution and democracy of India and to demand immediate resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah for his acts of omission and commission that led to the riots".

Meanwhile, with the death of one more person reported at the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital on Thursday, the riot toll increased to 52. As many as 44 deaths - 43 men and 1 woman - have been reported from the GTB Hospital, three from the LNJP Hospital and five from RML Hospital.

GTB Hospital's Medical Director Sunil Kumar said, most deceased were in the 20-40 age group, and added, 298 patients had been treated at the hospital.
