After collaborating on massive hits such as Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania – the winning trio of Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan confirmed there third outing Mr. Lele, but unfortunately the film has been postponed indefinitely, perhaps shelved.
Filmmaker and producer, Shashank Khaitan just took to his social media profile and released a statement confirming that the film has been postponed. He wrote, “Hi Guys, here is an update on Mr. Lele…Karan, Varun and I have mutually decided to postpone the shooting of the film. It’s a script we all love and am sure will revisit soon. But scheduling the film was turning out to be very tough, as the film has a solid ensemble cast and the dates were just not falling into place”
“I am very sure Varun and I will collaborate soon, either on Mr. Lele itself or on something new, as collaborating with him has always been the most joyful and fulfilling experience in my life. Have a great day guys, lots of love.”
Mr. Lele, the film was to star Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pedneakr as the female leads. Backed by Karan Johar productions, the movie was set to go on the floors this month but due to date issues, the film has been postponed.
The movie was going to be a comic-thriller with Varun playing a Maharashtrian guy for the first time, wherein he also had to undergo training.
Earlier, Kiara Advani was roped in to play Janhvi’s character, but the actress had opted out of the project due to date issues.
