We don’t want bloodshed, we want peace: Mamata


Bhubaneswar, Feb 26 (SocialNews.XYZ) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday appealed to the people to maintain calm. "We don't want bloodshed, we want peace," said Banerjee reacting to the Delhi violence.

She said it is good for everyone when there is no violence and conflict.

The West Bengal Chief Minister, who is in Odisha for a 4-day visit, on Wednesday sought the blessings of the deities at the Jagannath Temple in Puri.

She offered her prayer before the presiding deities seeking harmony and peace in the country.

Banerjee is scheduled to meet Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.

She would meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the Eastern Zonal Council (EZC) meeting in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

She would meet Shah for the first time after the Citizenship Amendment Act was enacted.

Chief Ministers of Bihar and Jharkhand, Nitish Kumar and Hemant Soren respectively, are also scheduled to attend the EZC meeting.
