New Delhi, Feb 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) President of the UK Supreme Court Lord Robert John Reed visited the Supreme Court and briefly witnessed the proceedings, here on Monday.

Minutes before the start of the court proceedings in the Chief Justice's court, a court official announced that Lord Reed would share the dais with the Chief Justice S.A. Bobde and the other two judges Justice B.R. Gavai and Justice Surya Kant.

The courtroom was packed to the brink.

He sat with the Chief Justice for nearly 15 minutes. Attorney General K.K. Venugopal also greeted the Lord Reed in the courtroom.

The official announced matters for the urgent hearing would be taken up after the completion of the court proceedings.

The Bench first took up the arbitration matter, which was argued by former Attorney General and senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi. He also greeted the UK judge.

After conducting hearing few cases, the Bench rose and then re-assembled, sans Justice Reed, to take up other matters listed for hearing.

Justice Reed, a Scottish judge, was appointed the UK Supreme Court's president on January 11. He is here to attend the two-day international judges' conference on "Judiciary and the Changing World".
