Pak media plays up Trump's positive comment on Islamabad

New Delhi/Islamabad, Feb 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) Pakistan media on Monday ignored all that US President Donald Trump said and focused on his limited positive reference to Islamabad, during his first state visit to India.

Most websites of all major English dailies in Pakistan ran the headline on the lines that Trump said in Ahmedabad that the 'US has a very good relationship with Pakistan'.

At Motera stadium, the largest cricket stadium in the world where around 1,25,000 people had gathered to honour him, Trump said that both the US and India had been hurt by Islamist terrorism and are united in defending citizens from its threat.

"Our borders will always be closed to terrorists and extremists. Anyone who threatens our security, will pay a big price," he said amid a loud cheer.

However, Trump also indicated that the US was keen on taking Pakistan along for the sake of security. "For this reason, my administration is working positively with Pakistan. Our relationship with Pakistan is a good one. There are big signs of progress in ensuring greater stability and peace of all the nations in South Asia," he said.

India has been a victim of Pakistan sponsored cross-border terrorism for the last three decades in Kashmir. The US has suffered on account of pan-Islamist terror groups sheltered and supported by Pakistan army and deep state in Afghanistan.

Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of September 11 terror attacks in the US, was found and killed in his safe house in the garrison town of Abbottabad in Pakistan.

But the Pakistan press on Monday highlighted that Trump in his maiden speech in India said that the US shares good relations with Pakistan. While The Nation ignored the news altogether, the Dawn, the Daily Times and the News played up only the positive comments regarding Pakistan.
