Still Learning Classical Music, A.R. Rahman

A.R. Rahman is known for his extensive body of work for film and stage, for his stylistic range as a composer, and for his integration of assorted styles of music in his compositions.  A.R. Rahman’s media venture Qyuki Digital Media in association with NEXA Music has come forward to provide a platform for young musical talent in India, promoting original English compositions. NEXA Music released its much awaited music video by maestro A.R. Rahman. Titled 'You Got Me'.

A.R.Rahman was seen interacting with the media on Friday in Mumbai at the launch of the music track 'You Got Me'.

When asked have you ever thought of collaborating with Classical musicians, on this Rehman said, "Ofcourse, because in film scoring you tend to bring lot of classical musics influences whether it's Hindi or western. This makes the score very very virtual. It demands to learn lot of classical music and I am still learning. There is so much to learn in life. Specially music is a never ending concept of learning. Being simple, but yet complex underneath is the most important thing."

Besides this, the composer has bankrolled the film and will debut as a writer and producer with the musical love story ‘99 Songs’. It is set to steal everyone's hearts.

About the movie, The movie '99 Songs' is directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy and introduces Ehan Bhat and Edilsey Vargas as lead actors. Actors Lisa Ray, Manisha Koirala, Rahul Ram and Ranjit Barot can also be seen in pivotal roles in the movie. It is scheduled to release this year.
