Bollywood and Tollywood actress Taapsee Pannu who prefers to express her opinion on social issues through the medium of cinema, has come out with her new film, ‘Thappad’. The film shows Taapsee in the role of a wife who is determined to leave her husband and teach him a lesson after he slaps her at a party. The actress articulated, ‘Thappad’ is not just about a slap, it’s about the phenomena of domestic violence.
Taapsee Pannu was seen interacting with the media on the sidelines of 12th Radio Miirchi Music Awards on Wednesday in Mumbai.
Talking about her movie 'Thappad' Taapsee said, "Thappad is not just about a slap or domestic violence. It's all about the unfair things happening in relationship. Which ultimately results into divorce. My movie emphasis on the same issues. Because in our society, even in harsh situation we are taught to move on."
About Nirbhaya Case, Delhi court on Monday issued fresh death warrants for March 3 at 6 am against the four death row convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case.
Expressing her views on Nirbhaya case, the actress said, "I am happy that Asha Devi (Nirbhaya's Mom) is finally getting justice."
‘Thappad’ is a drama film,directed and co-produced with Bhushan Kumarby Anubhav Sinha. The film stars Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati. It is scheduled to release on 28 February 2020.
