Handsome hunk John Abraham took to his social media profile and remembered the most iconic and trailblazing name in fashion design world, Wendell Rodricks, who passed away yesterday.
Wendell Rodricks died at Colvale village residence in Goa on Wednesday. He was 59. He was also known as an activist who worked for social causes, an eco-warrior and author. He was awarded with Padma Shri in 2014 and was a recipient of Chevalier de I'Ordre des Arts et Lettres (Knight of the order of arts and letters) in 2015.
Actor John Abraham took to his social media profile and shared a picture message, which read, “you where there for me when I began, always believed in me. This year has taken too many too soon. Till we meet again Wendell. RIP #WendellRodricks”
Rodricks began his career in fashion by designing for Garden Vareli, Lakmé Cosmetics and DeBeers. He was homosexual and married Jerome Marrel in a civil ceremony in Paris in 2002. He made cameo appearances in the 2003 film Boom and in the television play True West in 2002. He also played himself in the 2008 film Fashion.
Meanwhile on the work front, John Abraham has an interesting line-up of releases in 2020, such as Mumbai Saga, Attack and Satyameva Jayate 2.
Mumbai Saga is directed by Sanjay Gupta and produced by T-Series. It is a gangster drama and stars an ensemble cast of Emraan Hashmi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Kajal Aggarwal, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Pankaj Tripathi, Rohit Roy, Amole Gupte, Samir Soni, Gulshan Grover and Sharman Joshi.
Set in the 1980s and 1990s, the story shows changing faces of Mumbai people by closing mills to make malls and high rise buildings. The film is set to release on 19 June 2020.
